I'm the co-founder and CEO of E29 Incorporated, a service oriented software shop near Washington DC. While this is my official blog, my thoughts and opinions expressed here do not reflect those of my company, yada yada.

So that was Leah Culver OMG

After analyzing the Kinderism logs, I’ve found out that this delightful comment WAS actually left by Miss Culver herself.

Granted, I drug her through the mud on the post, but that’s who I am and we all don’t expect anything else. In response to my criticism of her website and programming abilities, Leah took the high road and pointed out that I’m not as internet-famous as she is, and then suggested I get over it.

But, it’s true. I don’t have a vagina and a CS degree to flaunt, and it keeps me awake at night. If only there was someway to get a bunch of idiot Diggers to latch on to my every move, failure or not… hmm… I could possibly cater to the gay IT crowd? Maybe I should run a contest to etch corporate logos all over my bimmer?

It really hurts my soul that I’m not internet famous, but at least I’m not an egotistical bitch.

Glad they got rid of that Firefox memory leak

I think they spent so much time on the Firefox Download day they forgot to make the browser suck less than 2.0

How to remove Antivirus XP 2008

After ten years of being on the ‘net almost 24/7, I acted like a n00b and infected myself with a computer virus.

I’m not 100% certain of the steps immediately before I got the virus/malware, but one did include hitting ‘unblock’ on a svchost process pop-up. I think the pop-up was actually fake and launched the downloader for the Antivirus XP 2008. My computer restarted immediately without warning, and this new happy program was letting me know that I had millions of infections on my computer, and my background picture was changed to a fake warning.

If you tell the Antivirus XP 2008 program to scan and delete, it will tell you that you need to buy the full version for $99. How quaint.

Instead of doing that, click this link and download Anti-Malware from Malwarebytes. Run a full scan, then remove the stupid program. Anti-malware will return your system to normal. I now swear by Adaware and Anti-malware, although hopefully I won’t click on a fake pop-up :P

Everybody’s an Idiot

Since I’m getting a good piece of residual traffic from my two “is an idiot” posts ( Suze Orman and Leah Culver ), I figure I’ll go for the throat and just start calling everyone idiots.

In actual news, I’ve really gotten hooked on Python, Lunatic Python, Panda3d and Terragen. Honestly, just by using all those together, you could create a pretty awesome video game. My one contribution so far is creating a Boeing 747 in space, but it’s a start :P

Prettying up the Bimmer

I got my shipment from BavAuto today: New front suspension bushings, new cabin air filter, more 5w-30 oil ( I have a leak somewhere :/ ), new serpentine belt ( mine’s cracked :/ ), a new coolant level sender, and of course new shiny carbon fiber style hood & trunk emblems. Oh and a giant BavAuto windshield sticker to show some love.

The art of the DMV

Just a small update before I make a mega-vacation update with PICTURES.

I got back home from vacation Saturday morning around 6am. Got the mail, saw that my insurance provider was going to cancel my car insurance in September because my license are suspended.

Read on, it’s worth it.

That was pause worthy, since I didn’t really know my license were suspended, and had been driving around in Cali test driving BMWs.

So this morning, armed with a ton of documentation, receipts from paid tickets, and proof of address, I went into the DMV. I god awful way to spend the morning normally, but this time, MAGIC.

I walked up to the teller.

“Yeah, I think my license are suspended.”

“Let me check and then I’ll get you a number… Yup, suspended”

Before I even had time to sit down, my number got called. Hooray!

I went up, explained the letter, and pulled out my heaps of documentation.

“Hmm.. it’s been suspended almost a year.. oh don’t worry, you don’t need all that, just pay the reinstate fee and I’ll make you a new one.”

Total time, maybe 8 eight minutes and I was on my way. Definitely the best DMV experience I’ve ever had.

I thought about pointing out the irony that someone with a valid novice racing license has a suspended regular license. So I’m allowed to go 160mph without a ride-along, but can’t go 60mph :P
So remember, if you want to have a great DMV experience, go get your license suspended and don’t do anything about it for a year :P

2008 Camaro SS beats 2003 BMW M3 ‘ring time by 2 seconds

The haters are rejoicing and filling up forums with BMW bashing.

Buuuuuuuut. There’s always a but ;)

An American “muscle” car with 430hp barely beating a car with 100 less horsepower, and posting ‘ring times with cars in the 250hp - 350hp range isn’t very flattering. ( Before you ask about the weight, the Camaro SS is 350lbs heavier than the E46 M3 )

Put against the new 2008 BMW M3 with the same horsepower and weight, the Camaro is 15 seconds behind. Don’t assign the ’sports car’ mantle to the Camaro just yet ;)

The Ring times for reference.

Removed Gallery2 from Kinderism

Since the upgrade to 2.6, my Gallery2 bridge has stopped working and is too much of pain to fool with.
The old Kinderism gallery is located here ( http://media.kinderism.net ), and I’ll be using the NextGEN gallery here on Kinderism from here on out.
